Led Install on 2003 and Newer TJ's

While getting ready to do the Flush mount Led Install on my 2004 TJ I kept hearing about relocating the Vapor Canister behind the passenger side light.

But no one seemed to have pics or more detail on what to expect.

So here are some pics on what I found when I got back there and what you can expect when you do yours.

I did not post any of the pics on how to actually install the lights as that has been done allot before. Articles can be found Here and Here
This is what you are going to find behind the Passenger side light. Once you peel back the inner fender skert you will see it sitting there. To remove it, there are three bolts and a nut. You also have to remove two hoses, held in by plastic clips and 1 wire harness, then it will slip right out as a whole unit. When you remove the front two bolts and nut you will release a bracket that attaches to the front of this unit.

This is where it sits looking from inside the fender well with the 4.25" hole all ready cut for the light. The gray plastic nipple is on one of the hose assembly's you must remove held on by a clip. Be careful releasing that clip.

I made a 3/4 inch spacer and put that on two of the bolts that hold the bracket on. The bottom bolt needs nothing. The top bolt that the nut goes on you will not be able to use as is cause it is to short but that is OK. I just drilled a hole through the bracket and the frame on the canister assembly and put a self tapping screw through both of them to hold them together.

The other thing I had to do is cut a notch out of the front of the bracket to get the fender skirt back in the right place.

No big  deal really and will look more clear when you get in there.

I also used the FLasher fix here. You know about the flasher right?

Here is the finished result
